Les Jardins Suspendus
Ancienne base militaire déclassée en 1965 puis aménagée en jardins paysagers, organisés autour des thèmes des continents et des grands explorateurs.
Jardins et serres de collection visitables.
This relatively new green space, opened in 2008, has taken root at fort de Saint-Adresse, a former military building constructed on the heights above the Cité Océane in the 19th century to compensate for the levelling of the ramparts.
At this 17-hectare site celebrating botany and the know-how of the municipal gardeners, visitors can enjoy plant collections in the greenhouses, take in some natural curiosities and explore themed gardens and a rosery.
It is the ideal place for a walk or outdoor concerts, or simply to admire the stunning views over Le Havre from the converted fortifications that link the fort’s four bastions, now each devoted to the flora of one of the major temperate regions in the world and forming a promenade that adds a majestic dimension to the city, its port and estuary.
