Professional and Social Inclusion
The organizers of A Summer in Le Havre are working closely with local stakeholders to support a series of measures to promote employment in the Le Havre region.
A number of vocational inclusion schemes have been set to complete some key assignments for the celebration’s artistic projects. For example, the AHAPS vocational inclusion scheme is tasked with painting more than 130 beach huts in color, then painting them white again for the Couleurs sur la plage project devised by graphic artist Karel Martens.
For the event’s management and communications, the organizers are working with intermediary associations and employer groupings to encourage insertion and qualification around some key tasks such as cleaning and maintenance, handling and transport, leafleting, enveloping, routing, greeting, crowd management and so on.
The organizers of A Summer in Le Havre have also been heavily involved in a specialized insertion scheme set up for greeting the public and providing mediation. The scheme is known as MédiAction and aims to provide 18 long-term positions in the long run (4 supervisors and 14 beneficiaries).
Mediation develops the behavioral skills of the people involved and improves their know-how in other areas (communication, pedagogy, writing, etc.), which can then be transferred in many other sectors when they seek long-term employment.
The creation of this kind of insertion scheme is a ground-breaking initiative and a real asset for the territory.
