3. The Stairs

Tour 3, ‘The Steps’, connects the rebuilt downtown area with the heights of the city.  Visitors are invited to journey back in time on the funicular railway or take the steps that punctuate ‘the hill’ up to the older buildings and Art Deco villas that survived the 1944 bombings. Among other features, this tour highlights the vibrant creativity that reigns at Fort de Tourneville and the works of art created by Julien Berthier, Stéphane Thidet and Vincent Ganivet for Le Portique, the contemporary art center in the Danton district.

Start at Le Volcan and use the A Summer in Le Havre app as your guide or follow the inventive signage produced by the Yes We Camp collective to complete the tour.
